The latest figures from Maryland's casino scene suggest the cards are still falling in the industry's favor. In May 2025, the state's six casinos generated a combined revenue of $176.4 million from slot machines and table games, marking it as the seventh-highest monthly revenue on record, as per data released by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. This total represents a 1.9% increase compared to the same month in the previous year.
Contributing to the state's coffers, casino revenue handed over a sizeable $76.1 million last month, detailed by the same reports. When compared to May 2024, this is a hike of 2.2% — or $1.7 million — with the Education Trust Fund alone being the beneficiary of an additional $1.2 million, or a 2.2% year-over-year increase. Generated also by casino operations, funds are directed among various fronts, including education, local jurisdictions, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and aid programs for small, minority, and women-owned businesses, as detailed by FOX Baltimore.
Individual casino performances displayed varying trends. Leading the pack, MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County brought in $75.4 million, marking a growth of 4.3% from the previous May. On the other hand, Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County followed with $63.9 million but faced a 1.8% year-over-year decline, as noted by the NottinghamMD report. Baltimore's Horseshoe Casino, on the flip, saw a 3.4% gain at $15.2 million, and Hollywood Casino Perryville posted a notable 6.4% gain with a total of $8.3 million.
Meanwhile, Ocean Downs Casino enjoyed a 5% upswing to $8.8 million. After running the numbers on slot machines and table games, Rocky Gap Casino Resort was the only one to report falling numbers, albeit slightly, at a 0.8% decrease, coming in at $4.9 million for May. More comprehensive financial breakdowns, including year-to-date figures for each establishment, have been made accessible through the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency’s website.
