In a recent push to attract new talent to its ranks, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office took to social media to announce a hiring opportunity for deputy sheriffs. Notably, the window for applications was set to close at 11:59 PM yesterday, a tight deadline for potential applicants considering a career in law enforcement or those looking to transition from other agencies.
The announcement, posted on the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, provided details on the application process, and included a flyer with additional information on benefits. An accommodation was also mentioned for applicants without the typically required 60 college credits; the Office stated, "It’s OK, if you don’t have them when you apply. You have five years after being hired to get them."
Aspiring deputies were directed towards the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s official website where they could find the application form under the "Career Opportunities" section, accompanied by a directive to click on "deputy sheriff." According to the post by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, applying was a matter of minutes, possibly making it an accessible endeavor for many. The presence of a QR code was meant to streamline the process for the user, further simplifying access to the application form.
