New Yorkers are looking at a week of variable weather, with the potential for showers looming over the city as the temperature take a slight dip from today's highs. A detailed forecast for Manhattan predicts sunny skies today with a high nearing 90 degrees, but the outlook shifts towards a 30 percent chance of showers later in the evening, accompanied by thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
Similarly, Brooklyn's detailed forecast also anticipates sunny conditions today, with temperatures peaking at about 89 degrees, followed by a chance of showers after 2 a.m, as per the NWS. The weather narratives for Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island mirror this pattern, with slight variations in temperature and timing of potential precipitation.
As the week unfolds, the chance of showers continues across the boroughs. The upcoming weekend is likely to experience more rainfall, with 60 percent chance of showers on Saturday for most of New York City's boroughs. For those in Queens and the Bronx, temperatures will hover around the high 60s to low 70s.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service for the New York area, however, does not foresee conditions meeting NWS warning criteria. Despite the unsettled weather forecast, they report that "no hazardous weather is expected at this time."
