A teenage life was abruptly ended in a tragic motorcycle crash in northwest Las Vegas, bringing this year's traffic-related fatality count to a somber 80 within Metro’s jurisdiction. The accident, which claimed the life of a 17-year-old motorcyclist, occurred late on Wednesday near the Clark County shooting complex and Tule Springs, FOX5 Vegas reports.
The incident took place just before 11 p.m. on Durango Drive, which borders the open desert of the valley. It appears the teen was unable to safely control the vehicle while speeding and ultimately collided with a concrete barrier. Despite the swift response of medics, the rider was declared dead at the scene. The increasing number of such incidents continues to raise alarms over traffic safety and speed management in the area.
Further details disclosed by the 8 News Now highlighted that the crash happened on Moccasin Road east of Durango, a road that serves as the northernmost boundary in the valley and edges the desert. The evidence found at the scene pointed to the teenager's excessive speed as a contributing factor to the fatal outcome.
