Wake Forest residents can expect some delays and detours as the town's 2025 Road Resurfacing Project marches on, targeting over 60 local streets and roadways for major rehabilitation. According to a statement from the Town of Wake Forest, the project that began earlier this year has entered its next phase with concrete work already underway and asphalt work starting this week.
Concrete operations commenced on Tuesday, June 10, with contractor Fulford & Jones hitting the streets—specifically East Holding Avenue, Ledgerock Road, Leadyard Court, Montville Court, and South Allen Road, which are seeing repairs between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays, and whereas milling and paving is set to roll out over the coming weeks on a different set of streets, residents living along these roads have been advised to find alternative parking to avoid their vehicles being towed at their own cost.
The schedule posted by the town has milling and paving operations kicking off the week of June 16 on Aldoncaster Drive, Mithrasdowne Court, Pantonbury Place, Penfold Lane, Quercus Court, and Shepstone Place, with a subsequent set of streets, including Clatter Avenue, Crenshaw Point, Federal House Avenue, Flemming House Street, Jones Wynd, and Trammel Court, scheduled for the week of June 23. "Affected residents along these streets will be notified via door hanger," notes the Town of Wake Forest, with parking restrictions enforced during the scheduled work dates.
Alongside the parking restrictions, the Town of Wake Forest emphasized that traffic detours will be in place, and signage alongside flaggers will direct motorists; however, the town encourages drivers to heed flag signals from construction personnel, follow signed detour routes for their safety, or choose an alternate route—if they happen to find themselves navigating these zones. Despite the inconvenience, the project aims to significantly improve road conditions, evidently showing the town's commitment to infrastructure maintenance and safety.
