A collision at the intersection of East Katie Avenue and South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas resulted in the death of a 61-year-old man. The crash occurred last Saturday and is the 84th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2025.
The incident happened when a 2005 Nissan Altima attempted to turn left onto South Maryland Parkway under a flashing yellow arrow and collided with a 2005 Mercedes Benz CLK320 traveling east on East Katie Avenue. The Mercedes struck the left front of the Nissan. The male driver of the Nissan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained critical injuries, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
A 61-year-old man died after a crash involving a Nissan and a Mercedes Benz in Las Vegas. He was taken to Sunrise Trauma but was later pronounced dead. The 24-year-old Mercedes driver, Monserratt Coronado Roman, had minor injuries and showed no signs of impairment.
