Last night, County Executive Steuart Pittman championed the arts while debuting the 2025 Nina De Angelo Artists Without Limits Art Exhibit, a community showcase featuring creative pieces from local residents across the spectrum of ages and abilities. This free public exhibit is now open to visitors at the Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library until August 15, before relocating to the Arundel Center on August 18, where it will remain on display until September 13.
Holding citations, Pittman and the Anne Arundel County Council members recognized each artist for their efforts, officially kicking off the eleventh iteration of this art exhibit. The initiative, supported by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues (CODI), and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, not only celebrates art but also serves as an enduring nod to the late advocate and artist Nina De Angelo, after whom the exhibit was renamed in 2024.
April Nyman, the President and CEO of The Arts Council, was thrilled with the quality of art presented. "As jurors, we were consistently impressed by the caliber of the artwork," she told attendees, as reported by Anne Arundel County's news release, emphasizing the growth and importance of the exhibit over the past eleven years. With the overarching theme "The Power of Inclusion," this exhibit does more than showcase art—it emphasizes every individual's right to have their creativity seen and celebrated in a collective space.
