
Earlier this morning, Baltimore Police were called to a concerning scene at the Inner Harbor, where a vehicle was reported to be submerged deep in the water. According to a report by FOX Baltimore, upon further investigation by the department's Underwater Recovery Team, what started as a routine retrieval operation took a tragic turn when a body was found inside the vehicle.
The operation began around 9:30 a.m. near the 500 block of E. Pratt St., when the authorities were alerted to the possibility of a vehicle underwater, here the vehicle was eventually found by dive teams 22 feet beneath the surface in the murky depths of the harbor, it was a curious sight for passersby and became a topic of immediate public concern, with residents expressing their shock and bewilderment over the unexpected discovery the incident quickly became a focal point of discussion among those in the vicinity. "The surprise factor was that there was a dead body in there and, you know, I guess that we don't know exactly when it happened or, you know, if someone could have called it in earlier," Shane Harper stated, as per WBALTV.
Police have yet to release information on how long the vehicle may have been submerged or whether foul play is suspected in this incident. The identity of the deceased remains unknown as officials await a report from the Medical Examiner's Office, tasked with determining the cause of death after recovering the body from the scene.
