KING 5 reports that crews from North Mason Regional Fire Authority, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Green Diamond Resources, and the Mason County Department of Emergency Management are collaborating in the firefighting efforts. A drone from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is being utilized to map the fire's boundaries and identify hot spots. Cutting and securing fire lines are also in progress, serving to limit potential fuel for the fire.

Cooler temperatures and light precipitation are forecast for Wednesday, possibly aiding the efforts of the firefighting teams. However, this respite is expected to be brief with a return to warmer and drier conditions by Thursday, as per KING 5. In addition to the immediate dangers presented by the Toonerville Fire, there is heightened concern about the potential for further wildfires. As a prevention measure, a burn ban was initiated on Wednesday for Mason County, per KOMO News. Meanwhile, about 50 homes remain under threat from the encroaching flames, and state and local fire crews continue to work to contain the fire as quickly as possible, while they have warned residents about the augmented fire risk due to the expected hotter temperatures this weekend.
