Cosm is rolling out its latest immersive sports experience to Cleveland, where audiences will encounter wall-to-wall screens that bring them to the center of live sports action and more. This project, a partnership with Rock Entertainment Group and real estate firm Bedrock, is setting up shop in the Gateway District near the Rocket Arena, as reported by Cleveland19.
With a 30-meter diameter featuring a 12K+ LED dome, fans in Cleveland can look forward to getting the "best seat in the house" for a range of events, from NBA games to live music performances. Quoted in a press release published by WKYC, Cleveland Mayor Justin M. Bibb claims, "This incredible venue will enhance our city’s reputation as a hub for sports and entertainment, drawing visitors from near and far to experience a whole new level of immersive entertainment."
Other than sports, the venue will host experiential cinema, immersive art experiences, and performances, including a showing of Cirque du Soleil’s production “O.” With a current presence in Los Angeles and Dallas and upcoming locations in Atlanta and Detroit, this Cosm venue marks their fifth such establishment. Bedrock’s Dan Gilbert sees Cosm as the catalyst for a mixed-use development project, infamously known now as the "Rock Block," according to Cleveland.com.
The programming for the new venue boasts official partnerships with top broadcasters and leagues, bringing in a slate of live sports offerings from the NFL to international soccer. In a statement obtained by WKYC, Cosm articulates their vision to "Connects people and brings them together by merging a stadium-like atmosphere," which also includes elevated food and beverage options and state-of-the-art visuals. This technology, referred to as "Shared Reality", is being used to not only bring a stadium experience to fans but also to host a myriad of immersive artistic and cinematic presentations.
The venue is set to open its doors, aiming for early 2027, with other development opportunities such as hotels, office spaces, and additional dining experiences discussed for the near future. Found anxiously waiting in a currently mundane parking lot, Cleveland's sports and entertainment enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the groundbreaking addition to their city's landscape as outlined by Rock Entertainment Group CEO Nic Barlage and noted on Cleveland.com. As Cosm gets ready to redefine communal viewing experiences, the city of Cleveland holds its breath for what could be a transformative boost to its cultural cardio.
