
El Salvador Vice President Félix Ulloa visited the Otonomus Hotel in Las Vegas, which is described as the city's first AI-powered hotel. The visit focused on exploring opportunities to develop El Salvador’s tourism and technology sectors. According to News 3 Las Vegas, Ulloa attended an event at the hotel to learn from Las Vegas's use of tourism and artificial intelligence and to explore possible partnerships.
"We learn that Las Vegas is a pioneer in doing that," said El Salvador Vice President Ulloa, who shared plans to explore a partnership focused on tourism and technology, as reported by News 3 Las Vegas. Philippe Ziade, CEO of Otonomus Hotel, said, "We are here trying to push the envelope" and "And really redefine hospitality." The hotel in El Salvador recently hosted international representatives from countries including the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Poland, and Italy. Ulloa said El Salvador aims to expand tourism by adding more infrastructure, stating, “We need more hotels, we need golf courses, we need many attractions for the tourism,” as per 8 News Now.
The vice president's visit to El Salvador focused on business and technology cooperation and took place as concerns continued over the country's handling of deportees sent to a large prison facility. During the visit, Otonomus Hotel announced plans to build a new location in El Salvador, joining its existing sites in Las Vegas and Tulum, Mexico. Clark County also hosted leaders from Sweden, Japan, and Central American countries as part of ongoing tourism industry discussions, as mentioned by 8 News Now.
