The City of Fort Worth has just snagged a Best of Texas Award for its City Hall-Retrofit and Move project, getting the nod in the Best Workforce/Workplace Initiative category. The accolade was handed out by Government Technology during the Texas Digital Government Summit, which took place on July 24 at Austin's JW Marriott hotel, as reported by the City of Fort Worth.
City officials Marilyn Marvin, who is the director of property management, and Sallie Trotter, deputy director and chief technology officer in IT Solutions, were present to receive the award. Their presence underscored Fort Worth's ambition to not only upgrade its operations but also to make a better space for its employees to work and for the public to access City services. The collaboration clearly has paid dividends, even if to simply facilitate the employees' ability to more easily communicate and collaborate.
As part of the project, the City Hall saw substantial renovations aimed at improving efficiency and fostering a more collaborative environment. This revamp wasn’t just for show; it was a critical step in Fort Worth's ongoing quest to enhance how city employees work together and how Fort Worthians interact with their local government.
