The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has issued a public plea for assistance in the search for a missing 7-year-old girl, Gabriela Jireth Gimon Palma, who was last seen over a week ago on July 11. According to ABC6, Gabriela was in the temporary care of her grandmother, Rosibel Galavis Telles, when she disappeared.
The missing child is described as approximately 3 feet 5 inches tall, with light brown hair and brown eyes, and weighing around 66 pounds. Officials believed she may have been taken by her grandmother, who was supposed to return her last Saturday, but failed to do so. WBNS reported that multiple attempts to contact Ms. Telles have been fruitless, raising growing concerns for Gabriela's safety.
The sheriff's office is actively searching for a gray 2015 Hyundai Elantra with the Ohio license plate KPZ3638, which Rosibel Galavis Telles is believed to be driving. Family members have mentioned to authorities that Telles may be heading towards El Paso, Texas, and may continue to travel to an unspecified location in Mexico.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Gabriela's whereabouts or who has seen the vehicle to reach out immediately. "Anyone with information should contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 614-525-3333," in a statement obtained by The Columbus Dispatch. The search involves both local and potentially national jurisdictions, as the child may have been taken across state lines.
