Highlighting how investments in talent development pay off, Governor Polis toured facilities at Lutheran Hospital and Red Rocks Community College, proudly showcasing the fruits of the Opportunity Now Grant Program overseen by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Lutheran Hospital, after receiving a $1.9 million seed grant, kicked off the Pathfinders Program, which extends an AI-supported talent pipeline to front-end healthcare job seekers. They offer upfront tuition coverage and ensure job placement. Speaking on the initiative, Polis emphasized the construction of "a stronger healthcare workforce" that not only garners better patient care but also supports workers' livelihoods. According to the Colorado Governor's Office, he stated, "By providing ways for healthcare job seekers to learn the skills to succeed, we are building a stronger healthcare workforce."
Over at Red Rocks Community College's Warren Tech, Governor Polis took in the sights of the lab equipment and setups integral to the teaching of aerospace engineering courses. Polis's presence marked the state's commitment to facilitating hands-on learning experiences, preparing students for careers in aerospace and quantum industries. The college has been buoyed by an Opportunity Now grant exceeding $1.2 million, marking it as a key player in the training programs for these cutting-edge sectors.
