Authorities are on the hunt for 38-year-old Omar Marzouk, who has been charged with the murder of Jimmy Arevalo, a 32-year-old contractor who was shot and killed while pressure washing outside a Houston business. According to FOX 26 Houston, the incident occurred yesterday morning in the Third Ward.

The confrontation between Arevalo and Marzouk happened around 12:40 a.m. on the 2500 block of Calumet Street, wherein surveillance footage captured a gray or silver truck arriving at the scene. Marzouk is reported to have drawn Arevalo's attention before the two engaged in a brief exchange that escalated to the point where Marzouk allegedly shot Arevalo and then fled. As he remains at large, the Houston Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact their Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers, as stated by KPRC 2.

The aftermath of the shooting left Arevalo's family and colleagues in shock. Family members, including Arevalo's brother, were present inside the business at the time and rushed out after hearing the commotion. Arevalo's brother, Anthony, was amongst the first to discover the victim. "It was terrible. My baby brother, just to see him in a pile of blood. He tried to speak but because of all that blood he couldn’t,” Anthony told KPRC 2.

Anthony also shared that he and his brother owned a contracting business together and that they were about to end their work night when the tragedy struck. The victim, known for his helpfulness and outgoing nature, left a deep impression on those around him. "He’d never say no if somebody needed help. He’ll always smile and everybody knew him because he was so outgoing guy. It’s gonna break me and I know it’s gonna break my two kids because they love their uncle so much," Anthony said to KPRC 2. The Houston Police Department has not disclosed a motive for the shooting, nor have they indicated whether the attack was random or targeted.
