On Wednesday afternoon, Los Angeles Fire Department crews were actively fighting a brush fire in the Beverly Crest neighborhood. The fire, known as the Spur Fire, was first spotted near N San Ysidro Drive, north of Beverly Hills. According to CBS Los Angeles, the blaze was reported to be moving slowly over steep terrain, covering roughly one-quarter of an acre around 2:14 p.m. with no immediate threat to nearby structures.

At the time the fire began, no evacuations were deemed necessary. The Los Angeles Fire Department also confirmed to LAFD Alert that there was an automatic aid response from the neighboring Beverly Hills Fire Department to support the efforts in mitigating the wildfire, which involved light grass in a residential area on the hillside.

Later updates revealed that the forward progress of the fire had been halted through a coordinated effort between ground and air crews from LAFD, alongside Beverly Hills firefighters. LAFD Alert detailed that the fire consumed less than one acre of light-to-medium grass and brush, and fortunately no structures were damaged. Efforts continued as crews worked on extinguishing hot spots to secure full containment of the Spur Fire.

To ensure the safety of firefighting operations, San Ysidro Road was temporarily closed to through traffic from Summitridge Drive to Tower Road. This road closure was to remain in effect until all LAFD activities were concluded. At this stage, fire officials have not provided a predicted time for when the road will reopen or when the fire will be fully contained.
