Dry and breezy conditions are expected in southern Nevada today, with southerly winds increasing in the afternoon and humidity staying low. Fire weather concerns are possible, but conditions are not expected to meet the criteria for a fire weather advisory, as reported by the National Weather Service.
Las Vegas will have slightly cooler temperatures than normal through the end of the week, with highs in the upper 90s to low 100s. Temperatures are expected to return to normal early next week as high pressure builds. "VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF period with no operationally significant clouds," according to the National Weather Service. Gusty southerly winds are expected from around midday until sunset.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms may occur over higher terrain areas such as Mohave County and the Sierra, but most of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California will remain mostly clear. “Southerly winds gusting 15 to 25 knots increase in the afternoon across much of the area,” then decrease in the evening. No significant rainfall is expected in the extended forecast, though brief thunderstorms may develop over the next few days. Weather spotters are asked to report any notable weather conditions, as stated by the National Weather Service.
