Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across Las Vegas and nearby areas on Wednesday, with a low-pressure system moving through the region. Sudden gusty winds may occur during the day, creating potential hazards, according to the National Weather Service.
A weather system will bring drier air by Friday, with temperatures expected to rise next week. Breezy winds and low humidity on Friday may increase fire risk. In Las Vegas, the National Weather Service said, "The primary concern this forecast period continues to be intermittent showers and thunderstorms that will move through the area through this evening," which may affect air travel due to gusty winds and reduced visibility from blowing dust.
Spotter networks are on alert as the National Weather Service monitors gusty winds and possible storms across southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and southeast California. The weather may affect visibility and aviation operations. "Spotters are encouraged to report any significant weather or impacts according to standard operating procedures," the National Weather Service stated. Conditions are expected to improve by the weekend, with a return to hot and dry weather.
