A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to at least 21 years in prison for fatally shooting his neighbor during a parking dispute. The case also involved an earlier attempted shooting in a similar situation. Robert Salone, 43, entered an Alford plea in April, meaning he did not admit guilt but accepted that there was enough evidence to convict him of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
The incident that led to Salone’s imprisonment happened in October. He confronted Christopher “Dice” Allen, 33, because Allen’s car was partially blocking his driveway. After an argument, Salone got two handguns and shot Allen, as reported by 8 News Now. During sentencing, District Judge Carli Kierny questioned whether Salone could safely live in society without supervision, based on a statement made in court.
Salone was sentenced to prison for a fatal shooting that was later connected to an earlier incident in August 2021, where he shot a man in the leg during a parking dispute in Henderson. Ballistics linked shell casings from both scenes. During the sentencing, Allen’s mother, Kathryn Carter, said her son "had a heart that wanted to help, not harm" and added, "And I hope he carries the weight of what he has done every single day for the rest of his life." Salone told the court, "I think about it every day," as mentioned by Las Vegas Review-Journal. He must serve at least 21 years before being eligible for parole and will be monitored if released.
