A community meeting about the Broadacres Marketplace closure was canceled on Tuesday, leaving vendors and residents without updates. The meeting was planned to discuss the market’s future. According to FOX 5 Vegas, people arrived at Centro Cristiano El Shaddai but found the event canceled.

Santos Curi, a vendor affected by the marketplace closure, said, "We are so worried about this, we have a lot of bills to pay, including for our house and food and all those things." A public meeting about the closure was canceled without clear explanation, leaving many vendors uncertain. Pastor Marko Gamboa, from the planned venue, confirmed that Congressman Steven Horsford’s office canceled the event and chose to hold a private meeting instead, which he did not attend. A spokesperson for Horsford’s office said the meeting was changed to allow participants to speak more freely. Vendor Maria De La Luz Flores said, "We had high hopes, we came with a lot of enthusiasm to know what we could expect but now I'm leaving frustrated," as reported by FOX 5 Vegas.

A spokesperson from Congressman Horsford’s office told News 3 LV that a private meeting was held with only one vendor present. Many other vendors were not included and expressed concern about the lack of information. “If it was canceled today and we don't know why, we need to know why because we need information to know what we can do,” De La Luz Flores said. The spokesperson said the goal is “to gather community input and work with stakeholders to hopefully see Broadacres reopen, without vendors or shoppers fearing for their wellbeing,” as mentioned by FOX 5 Vegas. Plans are being made for a public community event to continue the discussion.
