The City of Lewisville is keen to actively engage its residents in personal and community development through a series of educational workshops aimed at informing them about available home repair resources and grant opportunities. According to an announcement on the City of Lewisville's official website, the next free workshop is scheduled for August 5 at 6:30 p.m. and will take place at the Castle Hills Community Center. Interested participants are prompted to register by the June 15 deadline. Those looking to attend can RSVP through the city's event page.
Several grant programs are up for discussion. The Property Enhancement Program offers a financial grant-rebate arrangement, where residents could receive up to a 50 percent matching grant for certain exterior home repairs. Furthermore, the Love Your Block initiative provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant to foster community within neighborhoods. It supports activities that range from organizing neighborhood events to improving communal spaces. For more ambitious projects, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program provides a matching grant that can go up to $12,500 for groups aiming to beautify their surroundings.
Attendees of the workshop will be walked through the grant application process, as well as introduced to other countywide resources at their disposal. The initiative falls within the "Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods" objective that is part of the city's larger vision for 2025, which emphasizes fostering community vitality and homeowner pride. The complete Lewisville 2025 vision plan is available for review online, detailing the city's comprehensive approach to sustainable community development.
