The Lewisville Public Library, nestled at 1197 W. Main Street, is rolling out a series of community activities aimed at fostering creativity and camaraderie among its patrons. With an array of programs for all age groups – from adults down to the little ones – the library is set to become more than just a place for books, but a hub of shared experiences and learning. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving ample opportunity for visitors to participate.
Monday, July 21, from 6-7:30 p.m., the library extends an invitation to the local writing enthusiasts to join the Creative Writers Group. Held in the Crawford Meeting Room, this informal gathering is a platform for writers with varied experiences, ranging from the aspiring to the accomplished, to hone their craft. According to the City of Lewisville website, attendees can look forward to engaging exercises that "get attendees' creative juices flowing," followed by chances to share their work and exchange constructive feedback, no registration necessary.
The Hive Makerspace will be the site of an eclectic meeting for teens aged 13 to 18 on Thursday, July 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. Dubbed Teen AniMakers: Anime+Makers, the event combines anime viewing and craft-making. In July, with a focus on "Adventure", teens are encouraged to partake in this creative space, replete with all necessary supplies, and flirt with the boundaries of their imagination in a welcoming environment, without the need for prior sign-up.
