The Lodi community is set to strengthen ties with local law enforcement during the festive National Night Out event. Lodi Fire Department's recent social media post invites residents to join the Lodi Police Department on Tuesday, August 5, from 5-8pm for an evening filled with activities and community engagement. The event takes place across three parks in Lodi, with free live music, food, and various demonstrations lined up.

According to the details shared by the Lodi Fire Department on social media, there are ample activities to cater to the tastes of many. Blakely Park, Hale Park, and Legion Park will each host their unique set of celebrations. Enze Pool at Blakely Park is offering a free swim session, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lodi, warms up the locals between 5-8 pm.

National Night Out aims to bring community members closer to their first responders, enhancing mutual understanding and camaraderie. In Lodi, the event includes the traditional finger printing, raffle prizes, and K-9 demonstrations. Special mention is made of the generous contributions from local organizations and businesses that help make the evening a success.

Indicative of the community spirit, 1,000 meals will be prepared by the CommUNITY Service Team, Kiwanis Club of Greater Lodi, and First Baptist Church at each park, with Martin Brower donating the meals. Complementary to the food, local businesses such as Bimbo Corporation, Grocery Outlet, Food Maxx, and Raising Cane Chicken, are all pitching in to distribute samples to hungry event goers.

The educational future of Lodi's youth is also being supported through the Love Lodi initiative, which is set to provide backpacks for all registered K-12 students. The distribution of these essential school items will be carried out with the help from LUSD staff and local organizations like Cepheid Lodi, Vintage Church, Sunrise Rotary Club, each bringing backpacks to the park they represent.
