A Long Island man has been indicted on charges of plotting to kidnap and murder a former business associate, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office confirmed. Navdeep Singh, 48, of Dix Hills, stands accused of offering $100,000 and 10 acres of land in India to a would-be hitman in exchange for the execution of his one-time business partner, as per PIX11.
Serious allegations against Singh have surfaced amid ongoing business conflicts and a prolonged legal dispute. The District Attorney’s office indicates that Singh, who previously worked through his construction company, Gravity Construction Corp., aimed to end the conflict after being removed from a project managed by his associate. According to the charges, Singh communicated with a hired individual between May 31 and June 7, supplying photos, detailed information about the intended target, and a $7,000 cash deposit to finalize the alleged murder-for-hire agreement, The New York Post reports.
The plot, however, was uncovered before it could be carried out. The person Singh contacted reported the plan to law enforcement, resulting in Singh’s arrest on June 7. He now faces multiple charges of conspiracy and criminal solicitation and could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Following these events, Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly described the case as alarming. She outlined the timeline, noting that Singh requested photos of the target’s head and torso after the murder as evidence of completion. Prosecutors also revealed that Singh had surveilled the victim’s home to assist the hired individual in carrying out the alleged attack.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder highlighted the prompt action taken by authorities, noting the collaboration between the district attorney’s team and law enforcement that prevented a potential tragedy.
