
Seattle police were called to the scene of a stabbing early Tuesday morning in the South Lake Union area. According to a report by SPD Blotter, a 56-year-old man was found with a stab wound at the intersection of 6th Avenue North and Harrison Street around 5:51 a.m.
The victim was quickly assisted by police officers who attempted to provide medical aid. Soon after, Seattle Fire Department medics arrived to promptly take over the lifesaving efforts and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. Detectives from the Homicide and Assault Unit have begun to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to the stabbing, though the suspect managed to quickly flee the scene before officers could arrive and has not been located.
No arrests have been made at this time, and the Seattle Police Department is actively seeking any information the public might have regarding this incident. This ongoing investigation comes amid calls for heightened public safety measures in the wake of several recent violent events in the city.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have details about the crime to not hesitate to come forward.
