The outlook for New York City's weather in the coming days seems to be a mixed bag of sun and storms, according to several forecasts published by the National Weather Service. Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island are all bracing for a variety of conditions with chances of showers and thunderstorms scattered throughout the week. Manhattan can expect partly sunny skies and a high near 90 degrees today, while thunderstorms are mainly predicted between 2pm and 5pm.
Meanwhile, the weather in Brooklyn will be similar, with a 30 percent chance of rain and a high of 89 degrees today. As for Queens, they see a lower chance of showers during the day, but this doesn't rule out the possibility of thunderstorms following swiftly after 2pm. Residents looking for reprieve from the heat might find some comfort in the prediction of a slight chance of showers, with the high temperatures hovering in the mid-80s later this week, according to the latest forecasts.
The borough of Bronx is gearing up for a 20 percent chance of showers later today, with conditions expected to turn partly sunny and the high reaching up to 90 degrees. Across the water in Staten Island, the area is also preparing for possible thunderstorms and a heat index that might climb as high as 95 degrees.
Despite the varied weather patterns across the boroughs, the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook does not anticipate any events meeting warning criteria in the next seven days. "No hazardous weather is expected at this time," the outlook states, as it applies to southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York.
New Yorkers navigating through the week can expect intermittent showers and somewhat cooler nights, with lows generally staying in the low to mid-70s. Starting the weekend, the weather begins to clear up a bit with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s.
