Raleigh Police are investigating three separate overnight shootings, two of which occurred within minutes and blocks of each other in the early hours of yesterday. The first incident occurred around 1 a.m. near Boylan Avenue and West Johnson Street, where a man was found with injuries consistent with a gunshot, according to WRAL. He received medical attention and was transported to WakeMed.

While officers were at the scene, additional gunshots were heard coming from the parking deck at 510 Glenwood Avenue, where another injured individual was located and also taken to WakeMed. Both incidents took place within a 30-minute span.

Neighborhood residents have voiced their concern, with Jenny Liebel explaining to WRAL, "It's concerning, mostly because we want business to thrive downtown," she said, "We're also concerned because there are families out here during the day, but at night, we want the young people to be safe too."

Witnesses from the scene have recounted their experiences, with one, Mary Foley, telling CBS 17, "I was ready to meet my Lord if I had to." Foley was located across the street when the first shooting occurred at approximately 1 a.m.

A subsequent, unrelated incident happened just before 5 a.m. when Raleigh police responded to another report of gunfire at a residence on Conifer Drive where they found a wounded man, this victim is now in critical condition at the hospital. Raleigh police have arrested 22-year-old Orlin Sadie Isaguirre Lopez in connection with this shooting, charging him with critically assaulting with a deadly weapon, a story unfolded by ABC 11. Each of these events appears to be isolated, with authorities currently not linking the downtown shootings to the one on Conifer Drive.
