North Las Vegas is set to see economic growth with the Apex Area Technical Corrections Act now in effect. The law allows the city to issue permits for electricity, water, gas, telecommunication services, and rail access at the Apex Industrial Complex, removing the need for businesses to get approvals one by one from the Bureau of Land Management, according to the City of North Las Vegas.
“This act fast tracks infrastructure development that will lead to quality jobs,” said Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown. The legislation is expected to reduce delays in project timelines while keeping environmental reviews and oversight in place. The full development of Apex is projected to bring 73,000 jobs and $7 billion in investment to North Las Vegas over 20 years. The resulting revenue is planned to support services such as public safety, parks, libraries, and road improvements, as reported by the City of North Las Vegas.
City of North Las Vegas officials credited Senator Cortez Masto and Congressman Horsford for helping make the project possible. Mayor Goynes-Brown said, "We thank Senator Cortez Masto and Congressman Horsford for championing this commonsense solution and look forward to continued collaboration to grow our economy and deliver results for North Las Vegas and the region." The Apex development is expected to play a key role in the City of North Las Vegas' economic growth.
