A North Shore Senior High School student, Isaiah Brice Phillip, was tragically killed in a pool party shooting that occurred last Sunday night. Following the event at The Henry at Liberty Hills apartment complex, two other teens were injured amidst the chaos, as reported by Click2Houston.

Witnesses at the scene of the drive-by described the situation as chaotic and emotional. A 911 caller, in an emotional recount to Click2Houston, remembered seeing Phillip unresponsive and attempted unsuccessfully to revive him. "It was just tragic," the woman said. "I still see his face. You can’t unsee that." The incident also marks yet another moment of grief for North Shore's football community, recalling the untimely death of Jarvon Coles, another player killed just months earlier.

The party, which was unsupervised and included about 25-30 teenagers, was abruptly turned into a crime scene. According to FOX 26, alongside Phillip, a 15-year-old girl had to be airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, and another 15-year-old was transported for medical care after the shooting.

Phillip himself had been charged just two days before the pool party in connection with a roadway shooting that took place on July 6. In that incident, he and Chace Calicut were accused of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Calicut, identified by FOX 26 as a North Shore football team member and a top recruit committed to Georgia, was reported to have driven the vehicle while Phillip allegedly took aim and fired at their fellow students. During his court appearance yesterday, Calicut's bond was set at $20,000.

In the wake of the violence that erupted at the party, the Galena Park Independent School District confirmed that a student was both arrested for an off-campus incident and another student had fallen victim to the pool party tragedy. This series of events raises serious concerns about youth gun violence and is still under investigation by Harris County officials.
