More than 20,000 residents in Hawaiʻi have registered for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge, exceeding last year’s total with one month remaining. The Hawai'i State Public Library System aims to reach 25,000 participants by the end of July. The program encourages everyone to read at least one book this summer.
Hawaiʻi residents can join a statewide reading challenge by signing up at their local library, online, or through the Beanstack app, where they can also track their reading progress. Prizes include snack cards, stickers, tote bags, books, and a chance to win four round-trip tickets from Alaska Airlines. With over a million residents and increasing participation, organizers aim to meet their registration goal, according to the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System.
Registration for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge in Hawaiʻi is now open. Interested participants can sign up at their local library or through the official Summer Reading Challenge website. The program, organized by the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System, invites all residents to take part in reading activities under the theme "E Heluhelu Kākou" (Let's Read Together).
