Earlier today, a stabbing in Queens left one man dead and two others injured, disrupting the calm following Fourth of July festivities. ABC7NY reported that the incident occurred on Sutphin Boulevard and 112th Avenue around 1:50 a.m. when police responded to an assault in progress.
The violence, following the holiday's fireworks, claimed the life of a 25-year-old man, stabbed in the chest and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. In the chaos, two others were injured: one, a 25-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the ribs, and another, a 24-year-old man was slashed in the abdomen, detailed by PIX11. All victims were transported to the hospital, where the second 25-year-old man and the 24-year-old man were reported to be in stable condition.
The authorities have not yet apprehended any suspects as their investigation into the events leading up to the stabbings continues. The names of the victims have not been released, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time.
Committing themselves to uncover the sequence of events, officials from the local precinct are asking anyone with information to come forth, hoping that public cooperation will illuminate the darkened pathway to justice in this case.
