
A San Antonio man, David Guzman, age 44, was sentenced to a lengthy 17 and a half years in federal prison after being convicted for the receipt of child pornography, in an announcement made by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas. Following an investigation that unearthed disturbing criminal activity, Guzman finds himself facing over a decade behind bars, with the additional burden of a lifetime of supervised release once his time is served.
According to documents obtained from the courthouse, Guzman was found in possession of an alarming amount of illegal content; 107 image files and 268 video files on his devices were said to include infants, toddlers in bondage, bestiality, and other forms of sadistic acts. The discovery came after Homeland Security Investigations executed a federal search warrant on November 30, 2022, at Guzman’s home, leading to his arrest the following day.
U.S. District Judge Jason Pulliam sentenced David Guzman to 17 and a half years in federal prison and ordered him to pay $65,000 in restitution. The ruling, announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, also includes a lifetime of supervised release following Guzman's incarceration. In a statement, U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons reaffirmed the district’s commitment to protecting children and prosecuting those involved in exploitation.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Texas, the case against Guzman was led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bettina Richardson and Kirk Mangels. Craig Larrabee, ICE HSI San Antonio Special Agent in Charge, spoke to the diligence of the investigative team, reaffirming their dedication to safeguarding children against exploitation. "This 17 ½-year sentence reflects the seriousness of crimes involving the receipt of child pornography and underscores our commitment to holding offenders accountable," Larrabee conveyed to the press.
