A San Antonio man, Samson Luna, 36, tangled in a decade-long case of sexual exploitation, has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison. A press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas detailed the grim saga that began in 2013 and continued mercilessly until January 2024. Luna coerced a minor female into sending him sexually explicit videos and photos, bribing her with money via Cash App in return.
On a march toward some semblance of justice, Luna's Google account furnished proof of his crimes. Investigators uncovered a hefty cache of 87 videos and 45 images depicting the child's abuse at various stages of her youth. Arrested on March 24, 2024, Luna faced a federal grand jury barely a month later, which resulted in an indictment for one count of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of possession of child pornography. The weight of guilt bore down, and Luna pleaded guilty to the sexual exploitation charge on March 25, 2025, as reported by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Senior U.S. District Judge David Ezra sentenced Luna to a prison term followed by 15 years of supervised release. The court also ordered Luna to pay $100,000 in restitution to the victim. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Abilene Police Department, with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson.
