On Wednesday in the Santa Rosa neighborhood, the Sonoma Sheriff's Office found itself shattering the silence as its Narcotics Unit, bolstered by patrol deputies, conducted a search warrant execution. This operation resulted in the arrest of two men, 25-year-old Jacob Brunetta and 36-year-old Alexander Vassar, as per the Sonoma Sheriff's Office.
Brunetta was caught in a futile attempt to flee, according to the Sheriff's Office report, only to quickly discard over half a pound of cocaine through his bedroom window. His actions were not enough to hinder the inevitable arrest. Alongside the narcotics, detectives were able to seize a cache of weapons which included two firearms, one being a non-serialized, privately manufactured gun, a collection of ammunition, as well as high-capacity magazines, topped by an additional find of one pound of psilocybin mushrooms. Vassar's encounter with the deputies led to his possession charge of cocaine.
The charges laid on Brunetta reflect the severity of the discovery: possession of cocaine for sale, possession of psilocybin for sale, and possession of narcotics while armed with a loaded firearm. The courts quickly set his bail at $25,000, which he managed to post, earning his temporary freedom. "Brunetta faces multiple felony charges, including possession of cocaine for sale, possession of psilocybin for sale, and possession of narcotics while armed with a loaded firearm," the Sheriff's post reads. Vassar, on the other hand, was issued a citation for his cocaine possession and subsequently released.
