An ATV accident in Armstrong County resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man, local authorities reported. Michael McGuire of Sarver was found deceased after his Yamaha Grizzly four-wheeler veered over an embankment, ultimately coming to rest in a ditch, the Armstrong County Coroner's Office disclosed yesterday. Found roughly 600 yards from his hunting camp in Madison Township, McGuire had been missing since Friday, as WTAE reported.
Confirming the tragic incident, the coroner pronounced McGuire dead Monday morning, with state police now probing into the crash's circumstances. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, McGuire, who had been last seen alive last Friday, tragically had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. In the ongoing investigation, an autopsy will not be performed.
Michael McGuire, remembered for his love of the outdoors and his skill in taxidermy, was a retired UPS driver and an active member of the Rimersburg Rod & Gun Club. More than his love for hunting and shooting competitions, McGuire cherished the time spent with his family, being survived by his wife, Gina, and his children, Meggan, Jacob, and Isaac.
Multiple local volunteer fire departments, along with Pennsylvania State Police troopers from the Kittanning barracks, aided the Armstrong County Coroner's Office at the fatal scene.
