Armand David Saroli, a 52-year-old man from Sterling Heights, was charged with bank robbery after an incident on Wednesday. Authorities said he entered a local bank, gave the teller a note demanding money, and left with an unknown amount of cash. He was arrested shortly after. The Macomb County Prosecutor charged him with bank robbery, a felony that can carry a life sentence. His bond was set at $750,000, cash or surety, with no 10% option. The prosecutor stated, “These charges reflect our commitment to holding offenders accountable to the full extent of the law to ensure justice and safety for our businesses and the community as a whole,” according to Audacy.

It was revealed by ClickOnDetroit that additional conditions of Saroli's potential release include wearing a GPS steel cuff tether, and a prohibition against possessing any firearms, ammunition, or any weapons, as well as against contacting any banks. His probable cause conference is scheduled for August 7, at 1 p.m., with a preliminary examination set for August 14, at 9 a.m.

The incident, perpetrated at the Huntington Bank branch on Van Dyke Avenue near Canal Road, has brought a swift and joint response from local law enforcement. Within a minute of the robbery police arrived on the scene, and after broadcasting information to nearby agencies, Shelby Township police officers located Saroli. "Law enforcement responded immediately," allowing officials to state that no customers or associates were harmed during the event, as The Detroit News reported, with Huntington Bank officials affirming, "The safety of our customers and colleagues remains our top priority. We are cooperating fully with authorities as they continue their investigation."
