Three suspects have been apprehended and charged in connection with a shooting that resulted in the death of a man in Houston last year. The fatal incident took place at 4426 Willow Beach Drive on the evening of December 7, 2024. According to the City of Houston's news release, 19-year-old Gino Montes and 17-year-old Ben Nunez are facing capital murder charges in the 496th State District Court. An additional 16-year-old male suspect has also been charged but his identity remains protected due to his juvenile status.

The victim of the shooting has been identified as 20-year-old Angel Santiesteban. Initially responding to the scene, Houston Police Department officers found Santiesteban with multiple gunshot wounds next to his vehicle, a black Toyota Camry. Despite efforts to quickly provide medical assistance, Santiesteban was pronounced dead at the scene by the Houston Fire Department paramedics. Witnesses at the scene described a white, four-door Dodge Ram pickup with four individuals—a two inside and two standing outside—interacting with the victim before a physical altercation occurred. An attempt to flee subsequently led to the victim's vehicle colliding with a nearby residence.

Investigations led by HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Montealegre, G. Rangel, and K. Amri identified Montes as a suspect. Montes was arrested in El Paso on July 23 on an unrelated charge and is currently awaiting extradition to Harris County. "Additional investigation identified Nunez and the juvenile male as suspects in this case," as noted in the official news release. Both were arrested last Friday and have since been charged for their roles in the incident.

The Houston Police Department continues to seek information related to this case and encourages anyone with insights to contact their Homicide Division directly or to provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.
