Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a harrowing ordeal involving armed kidnapping and a subsequent tour of ATMs for cash withdrawals in Northeast Washington. According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), with assistance from the FBI's Washington Field Office, arrests were made nearly two months after the reported crime.
On May 10, in the early hours before the city awoke, two men reportedly accosted a victim on the 200 block of K Street, Northeast. The suspects, allegedly with the presence of a weapon, assaulted the victim and forced them into a vehicle. According to the MPD, after the abduction, the suspects proceeded to drive the victim to various ATM locations, demanding that money be withdrawn.
After the suspects absconded with the victim's property, they released the individual, who then sought medical attention. Having sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the victim was transported to a local hospital. The MPD release detailed, emphasizing the ordeal's violent nature but not its life-threatening aftermath.
Following investigation efforts by the MPD's Carjacking Task Force, Damon Middleton, 32, of Southwest, DC, and Michael Alston, 27, of Southeast, DC, were ultimately apprehended. Charging them with armed kidnapping, posed on July 11, 2025, were the warrants leading to their arrests, announces the MPD's statement. Both suspects are currently facing serious legal repercussions for their alleged role in the frightful incident.
