
A small plane crashed near Needles Airport on Sunday night, killing two people. News3LV reported that the Piper PA-28 took off from North Las Vegas Airport and went down near Laughlin around 9:40 p.m. The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District said there was a report of a fire near the airport before a sheriff's deputy found the aircraft fully on fire.
Local authorities responded to a plane crash and put out the fire. According to FOX5 Vegas, the Federal Aviation Administration said both people on board—a flight crew member and a passenger—died in the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating what caused it. The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane had “substantial” damage.
The names of the two victims have not been released, as the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department coroner division is still working to identify them. The plane was registered to a resident of Las Vegas, as mentioned by News3LV.
