Following a verdict reached last year, two members of the Wellington Park crew have been sentenced for their roles in the killing of Makiyah Wilson, a 10-year-old caught in a devastating act of gunfire on July 16, 2018. Mark Price, aged 30, will serve 50 years behind bars, while Antonio Murchison, 31, faces a 72-year sentence. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, both men were convicted of first-degree murder while armed, among other charges.

The two were convicted of participating in the vicious attack, which involved over 50 rounds fired into the Clay Terrace neighborhood's courtyard. The shooting that claimed young Makiyah's life while seated on her front stoop also wounded several others. Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department, joined by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, highlighted the diligent work of investigators from the MPD and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

In the same case, Quanisha Ramsuer, age 31, was found guilty of obstruction of justice during the investigation. The trial, ending with a guilty verdict for Price and Murchison on Sept. 3, 2024, laid bare the harrowing details of the attack and its aftermath. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Laura Bach and Natalie Hynum, who led the prosecution, were commended for their relentless pursuit of justice.

"Mark Price received 50 years in prison. Antonio Murchison received 72 years," announced U.S Attorney Pirro while underscoring the complex journey navigated by law enforcement to secure these convictions, as per the U.S. Attorney's Office.
