Early this morning in Milwaukee, a shooting occurred that left two young adults, aged 19 and 20, with gunshot wounds. According to a FOX6 report, the violence unfolded near East Singer Circle and Humboldt around 12:30 a.m., shocking the neighborhood with its suddenness. Both victims have been hospitalized, their conditions a testament to a night gone awry, and as of this writing, police have yet to apprehend the person responsible for this act.
Earlier the same night, a separate shooting wounded an 18-year-old near 17th and Greenfield. Reports from TMJ4 indicate the incident occurred just before midnight on Tuesday, adding another name to the roster of victims in Milwaukee's overnight violence. In both cases, the circumstances that lead to these shootings are shrouded in uncertainty, and investigations are currently ongoing as law enforcement searches for the individuals responsible.
The second incident of the night, the double shooting, happened in a neighborhood better known for its quiet streets than such eruptions of gunfire. WISN reported that the wounded 19 and 20-year-olds had managed to transport themselves to a local hospital seeking urgent care for their injuries. Still, the police are looking into the motive and searching for the gunman in this case.
Milwaukee's police department is reaching out to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspects involved in these separate but equally harrowing shootings. No arrests have been made thus far, and there is an undercurrent of urgency in police statements as these individuals remain at large.
