The wrestling world and fans across Central Florida are grappling with the loss of an icon. Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, died yesterday after a cardiac arrest in his Clearwater home. As reported by WFTV, his death closed a chapter on a career that helped hoist professional wrestling onto a global stage through his "Hulkamania" during the 1980s.

While Hogan's larger-than-life persona faded with his passing at age 71, it lives on in the Orlando community, particularly at Hulk Hogan’s Wrestling Shop on International Drive. "Out of respect for the family. My son — I bought him figurines and he’s had them in the back of the car ever since we’ve been traveling," Chico Mollock said in an interview cited by ClickOrlando, recounting an emotional connection to the legend that transverses generations.

The impact of Hogan's legacy on an individual level was palpable, as fans gathered at his store to pay their respects. Antonio Reyes Jr. reminisced about his visit to the shop immediately after getting married, telling ClickOrlando, "Me and my wife got married. Immediately after we got married, we came here to buy a couple things before we went on our honeymoon." The store has since become a shrine of sorts, with the owners closing down the shop in the wake of the news and fans continuously arriving to pay their respects. It remains unclear when the store will reopen.

Hogan, who also opened other businesses in Florida, is survived by his wife and two children.
