Last night, Alhambra Police Department officers were called to a local Kohl's in response to an alleged retail theft incident. The store's loss prevention team reported a trio of suspects who purportedly walked out without paying for various items, then attempted to flee the scene in a silver vehicle. A Facebook post from the department states that officers located the car and conducted a traffic stop on Fremont Ave. near Mission Rd. In the process, they detained Shaquala Fallsdown, Roumen Detchev, and Andrew Ulloa. Alhambra Police Department FB Post provided these details.
During their investigation, the officers reportedly found an assortment of clothing items still tagged with security sensors inside the vehicle. This discovery led to the arrests of all three individuals, with the police charging them with organized retail theft. It was also revealed that both Detchev and Ulloa had pending arrest warrants. "They tried to serve looks but got served charges instead," quipped the department's social media update. The suspects were subsequently booked at the APD Jail.
The arrest underscores an ongoing issue with organized retail theft, which affects businesses and can often indirectly impact consumers through heightened security and potentially increased prices. The Alhambra Police are actively sharing information about such incidents to alert the community and deter would-be offenders.
Details surrounding the outstanding warrants for Detchev and Ulloa were not immediately available. The Alhambra Police Department's Facebook post concludes with a tongue-in-cheek remark suggesting that the suspects' attempts at fashion appropriation have now been overshadowed by the legal consequences they've incurred.
