
Baltimore has seen an uptick in violence following an altercation in Southeast Baltimore, where two brothers have been implicated in a violent attack that left one man injured. The suspects, Winston Rivero-Aliendo, 23, and Wilson Rivero-Aliendo, 27, face charges of attempted first and second-degree murder, in addition to multiple counts of assault after allegedly assaulting and stabbing a 20-year-old man who was knocked off his moped. WMAR-2 News reported on the incident, detailing it as a result of a dispute concerning a stolen moped.
According to FOX Baltimore, the victim was riding in the 2500 block of Eastern Avenue when the attack occurred last Saturday. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. The Rivero-Aliendo brothers were apprehended shortly after the assault near the 3400 block of Pulaski Highway, with the help of a police unit known as Foxtrot.
The Baltimore Police believe the assault was predicated on an instance related to a stolen moped, suggesting a premeditated motive for the attack. Investigators continue to explore the circumstances leading up to the aggression, piecing together the tumultuous events that unfolded in what is typically a bustling area of the city.
