
August in Chatham County is looking colorful and educational thanks to a series of community events announced by Wren Memorial Library. Starting on Wednesday, kids can tap into their creativity with a crafting session for making personalized back-to-school vision boards. This interactive activity is designed to spark imaginative planning for the new school year and will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
According to the Chatham County's news release, on Thursday, the library is engaging all generations in a program dubbed "Generations Together," inviting adults to spend quality time with the younger kin through games and crafts at the Siler City Center for Active Living. Set to reoccur on the first Thursday of each month, the event, aims to strengthen family bonds and community ties with shared activities from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
On August 12, "Color Our World Red" promises a sensory story time about gardens and nature, complete with a food tasting session and a craft activity highlighting red hues. The event, led by a Chatham County Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteer, offers families a chance to immerse themselves in the vibrant shades of nature from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The following day, Wren Memorial Library invites animal enthusiasts for "Wild Tails," a unique educational encounter with a variety of animals from different species. Whether furry, scaled, or feathered, the program, will showcase the diverse creatures we share the planet with, according to a library schedule. The event is made possible by Friends of the Wren Memorial Library and runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
On August 20, understanding the critical role of pollinators is the focus of "Busy Bees Pollinating." The interactive session talks about how bees power our ecosystem, and runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., ideal for those with a keen interest in environmental science and nature.
The month wraps up with a friendly "BINGO Social" on August 27, where adults can unwind, play, and win prizes from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. It's a recurring event every fourth Wednesday, no registration is required, and all necessary supplies for the game will be provided.
