The FBI Houston Field Office, in a concerted effort with local and federal law enforcement agencies, has unveiled a strategic initiative to apprehend some of Houston's most dangerous fugitives. Dubbed the "Houston Most Wanted," this list aims to rally public assistance in the tracking and capture of individuals charged with violent crimes and considered armed and dangerous. The announcement was made during a news conference at the FBI Houston Field Office, with a range of top law enforcement officials in attendance, including Special Agent in Charge Douglas Williams, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Assistant Chief John Nanny, and Houston Police Chief J. Noe Diaz Jr.

As authorities laid out the strategy for the campaign, they emphasized the need for community engagement. "We are taking these violent predators off the street and making us all safer... Do your part. We can’t do this alone," stated Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare, in a statement obtained by Click2Houston. The FBI released the names and charges of the 10 most-wanted fugitives in the city, which include those wanted for offenses such as murder, aggravated assault, and bank robbery. Incentives for information leading to the suspects' arrests have also been publicized, with reward amounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000.

A significant case involves Christian Xavier Rucker, who is wanted for murder in aid of racketeering and has an outstanding reward of $50,000 for information leading to his capture. Rucker, also known by the alias “Gucci,” is accused of killing two individuals during a robbery in Houston. The FBI has previously featured Rucker, underscoring the serious nature of his crimes and the urgency to locate him. In addition, Gerrode Terrel Smith is sought for bank robbery, with concerns that he may travel to other states to continue his criminal activities.

Other individuals on the most-wanted list include Luis Argueta, charged with murder in a tragic case of mistaken identity. The details of these cases are as distressing as they are urgent, with lives lost and communities disrupted. Elvio Emilio Mancebo, who pleaded guilty to killing two people during a robbery and then evaded sentencing, and Jose De La Cruz Borjas Machado, wanted for aggravated robbery after allegedly attacking a couple with a weapon and burglarizing their home, are also featured on the list. Their names and faces were shared by KHOU with the hopes that increased public vigilance will assist in their apprehension.

The FBI is working closely with multiple agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Texas DPS, Homeland Security Investigations, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in a consolidated force determined to capture these fugitives and convey them towards justice. The public is encouraged to report any information they might have regarding these individuals by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or submitting a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
