The gaming scene in Downtown Las Vegas is set to take a turn towards modernity, as the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino discards its century-old tradition of live dealer table games in favor of an all-electronic setup. The transition marks an unprecedented move for the storied establishment, which holds the title of the city's oldest hotel. 8 News Now reports that the changes are coming as part of a broader vision to reimagine the property's gambling offerings.
According to 8 News Now, as the Golden Gate refurbishes its gaming floor with electronic table games, its current live table games staff are ensured continuity of employment. The team members are being offered positions at either Circa or the D, or within new departments within the overarching company. Described as an area of "high-energy electronic table games pit," the new setting promises patrons a combination of speed and the latest gaming technology.
"Big changes are coming to the Golden Gate, and we couldn’t be more excited," Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Resort & Casino, excitedly proclaimed, underscoring the historical significance of the venue, as per 8 News Now. Stevens further elaborated that the transition to electronic gaming represents a step towards embracing the future for the hotel, which celebrated its opening more than a century ago.
Addressing the staff redistribution, Stevens acknowledged the historic heritage of the Golden Gate, saying, "All of our table games team members at the Golden Gate are being offered roles at Circa or the D, or the opportunity to explore new departments within the company," as mentioned on 8 News Now. These statements were mirrored in a release shared with FOX5 Vegas, conveying a message of excitement and forward-thinking adaptation.
