Issaquah drivers are advised of upcoming lane closures on westbound I-90 in September. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced that bridge repair work will reduce traffic to one lane for up to four weekends. The repairs are intended to extend the lifespan of bridges originally constructed in the 1970s.

The first closure is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday next week, with lanes reopening by 8 a.m. September 7. Work during this period will focus on three bridges spanning Front Street North, Fourth Avenue Northwest/East Lake Sammamish Trail, and Issaquah Creek. Drivers should expect significant delays, with speeds reduced to 45 mph through the work zones.

The project includes replacing pavement, waterproof membranes, and repairing bridge expansion joints. Closures will cover the area between mileposts 18 and 16. The Washington State Department of Transportation recommends that drivers consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

Additional closures are tentatively scheduled for the weekends of September 19–21 and September 26–28, depending on weather. Work during these weekends will include repairs to the bridge over Tibbetts Creek and the Fourth Avenue Northwest on-ramp bridge from Front Street.

The Washington State Department of Transportation encourages travelers to check project updates through its project webpage, the WSDOT mobile app, or the WSDOT Travel Center map for real-time information.
