A Seminole County inmate is embroiled in serious allegations after authorities claim he plotted to murder three individuals connected with his ongoing child sex abuse case, including his alleged victim. Talil M. Vann, aged 24, who's been in the county's clutches since May 2024, apparently concocted a scheme from his jail cell to silence those integral to the prosecution of his case. WFTV reported Vann used coded language, such as "birds are beautiful" for an instruction to kill the prosecutor and offered a BMW for this grim transaction.
While ensnared behind bars facing life imprisonment charges for sexual battery of a child under 12 and related crimes, Vann is said to have deepened his predicament, attempting to hire a hitman to target the prosecutor, an Altamonte Springs detective, and the young victim. The plot unraveled after a confidential informant tipped off an undercover deputy, who posed as the hitman Vann sought to commission. Instead of finding a willing accomplice in the shadows of the correctional system, Vann's messages, sent through jail email and snail mail, landed in the hands of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, as relayed by WESH.
The twisted tale continued with Vann providing detailed intel on his young victim, including personal contact information and social media accounts. Instructions he issued also included directives for the operative to remain incognito while surveilling the detective. A search of Vann's cell later uncovered written plans and the codes mapped out for these heinous acts.
Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma did not mince words when describing Vann's alleged actions, saying, "This case reveals the extreme and calculated measures Mr. Vann was willing to take to avoid justice, even from inside the correctional facility." His sentiment echoes the severity of the new charges against Vann: three counts of solicitation to commit first-degree murder and one count of solicitation to tamper with a witness, revealed by WFTV. If convicted, he could face additional life sentences on top of what he already risked for the initial crimes.
The court has scheduled Vann’s arraignment for September 16. He remains in custody at the Seminole County Jail, under close watch following accusations that he plotted violence from his cell.
