A Clark County grand jury has indicted Christiann Ault, a mother tied to the Facebook group 'Las Vegas Super Moms', on sexual and child abuse charges. 8 News Now reports that evidence, including a video call between Ault and the alleged victim, was reviewed by the jury. "I’m sorry, baby. I’m just scared. I’m just scared. I’m just scared," Ault is heard telling the child during the call, expressing her fear of incarceration. The victim, a 10-year-old at the time of his grand jury testimony, claimed Ault sexually abused him and offered bribes like iPad time in exchange for his silence.
The charges Ault faces include two felony counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14 and one count of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment. During the troubling conversation captured on video, she repeatedly asks the child to tell the truth. "Because the truth, you’ll never get in trouble for telling the truth, baby, but lies can get, can get people put in jail," Ault said as per 8 News Now's report. Subsequent to posting a $50,000 bond, Ault pleaded not guilty at a July 30 hearing, with a jury trial slated for April 6.
Further details of the video call were revealed by News 3, showcasing Ault's inquiries to the minor about lying and feelings of harm or discomfort. "Has anyone asked you to lie?" and "Have I ever hurt you or made you feel gross?" Ault asks in the 17-minute call. The minor voices over the call, expressing distress: "These questions are making me stressed, can you please stop asking these questions?" Despite the child's discomfort, Ault persists with her questions throughout the call.
Kathrine Von Arx, an associate of Ault's from years back, spoke with News 3, urging for the suspension of judgment until facts were more clearly established. "Wait for the facts to come out, and that's what discovery is for," Von Arx advised, emphasizing the importance of evidence before making determinations. "If something really happened, then justice needs to be served." Following the indictment and the not-guilty plea, no further contact has occurred between the child and Ault as per grand jury statements.
